What a BOLT!!

that guy was cruising at the end by the looks of it he could proberly go much faster.

I was thinking the same!! If the he didnt "show off" at the end he could have went for 9.0 seconds!!

i was wondering if he is waiting for the big bucks and then run all out and go into the guiness book of records.

For 100m the "ideal" height is kinda average-ish. Something about very tall people being rubbish with the starts. Never really understood it exactly...but thats what they said in a docu about sprints.

Yep. Most top-flight 100m athletes are probably shorter than average. I can think of very few that have been tall (Lewis, Bailey) and certainly none that have been anywhere near 6'5 like Bolt.

It's about the start - it takes longer for a tall person to go from a crouch to a fully upright, full speed stride, though once they're there the long stride does help. Lewis was unstoppable over the last 50m of a 100m - Bolt appears to be even faster over the last 80m!

You recon he could have done sub 9sec? Amazing! Thought we would never see that! I need to get my hands on some footage!

Um, I think that JK is overly optimistic. Bolt was fast, very fast - but not that fast. :D

Maybe sub 9.6 imo.

Think they worked out that Ben Johnson lost 0.04 seconds because he raised his arm in the air after around 85m.
Was his 9.79 in 1988.

One thing is clear: White men can't run! Recon we should let PDV know about this chap for wing?

What was his time?
The last ..... 10 - 15m he spread his arms out to say "he is the man" and then proceeded to slow down. If he ran it hard right through ye I think 9.0s was gettable!

Well, by running slowly, you mean he was running at the same speed as the rest of the field, ie ~ 10m/s. He may have lost a few hundredths of a second by not continuing to accelerate, maybe even a tenth - but 9 sec is still a long way off.

He straightened his back and raised his arms like he was Jesus 5m from the finish line!!
I say he could have made it if he was pushed!

He ran 100m in 9.69 seconds that is 0.0968 seconds per meter. If he was doing full speed lets say 0.0959 for the full 100m it would put his time at 9.59

That last 20m would have an influance of about 0.001 on the whole 100m so I would say he would have ran it at 9.67 maybe 9.65 at his best but not sub 9.60 :o

I highly doubt maths can work in this instance, he couldnt have started the first 10m at the same speed he could have made the last 10 his momentum would have carried him through.
Sounds like a Science question in Matric!
I guess we'll never know.:)

I like this math, still, imagine just running 9.65 on the 100m...blieksiem! That is VERY fast!

just goes to show what can happen when the druggies are routed out, there are actually faster people waiting in the wings to show what they can do.
