On the 30th or 31st of May I phoned Telkom for them to transfer my ADSL line. Due to being in a different area from where I was moving, I was informed the easiest (and cheapest) way to transfer the line would be to cancel the existing one and apply for a new one. So imagine my surprise when on Friday last week (1 June) I got a call telling me to expect installation to be done within 16 days.
Imagine my further surprise when on Tuesday I got a call from a technician on Tuesday (5 June) to come and install my line. Telkom being Telkom wouldn't do anything easily so they did screw up something at the exchange. But that was resolved yesterday. Impressed by the turnaround time.
