What can one ask for broken laptop?

Mine is an old Centrino 1.83Ghz machine.. 1GB of ram, 40Gb drive.... DVD writer...
nothing really special except for the screen :)

(Used to say Celeron, but its a P4M chip actually.. Centrino chipset)

tbh your prices that you estimated seem fair..oh and I'm willing to take that hdd of you immediately..if you're happy with my offer when you decide to sell pls hold it for me :)

That is NOT a Centrino.

Even if it has a Centrino-compatible chipset, the P4M is not a Centrino-compatible CPU. Only Core processors are compatible with Centrino.

And even if you had a Core processor, it depends what wireless adapter you have.

And even if you have a compatible wireless adapter, they all have to be in sync to be a particular generation of Centrino.

In the past, Centrino used to mean something, but now having a previous-generation Centrino CPU with a current-generation Centrino2 chipset and proprietary wireless adapter will be as good as a current-generation full Centrino 2.

Its first generation Centrino, and it IS a Centrino chip from that generation... its not Centrino 2, but Centrino 1.
 
Ok.. sorry.. my terminology is SLIGHTLY out.. its a Pentium-M then.... shoot me for making a simple mistake...
 
And for the record, Centrino is Centrino. I used the terminology "current-generation Centrino2" to highlight "current-generation" as well as the fact that the label might say "Centrino 2".

Bearing in mind that it'll be about R700 to have that battery re-packed... ?
 
Ok, then I shall alter my question..

Where can I get the battery repacked? :D

Since Dell want R1500+ for a new battery and that just seems daft to me.
