What car to get?

Bro, there's a great saying: sometimes you just need to sh*t or get off the pot.

In your case, I can't make up my mind whether you're a serious buyer, or just doing a next level version of messing sellers around while you play them off against each other, and in the end you don't buy anything.

Seriously, look at the cars you were mentioning in your first post as considering buying, and you're NOW you've already upgraded to a Mercedes C-class coupe and yet the one thing stopping you from going through with it is because it doesn't have LED driving lights? lol, that smacks of just finding reasons to back out.

To be fair, this thread doesn't allow you to like any cars other than Mercedes, VW, BMW or Ford or else the raging starts and all hell breaks loose... so it eliminated some of his options in the original post.

My insurance company said that if I don't install tracker in my car then if my car is stolen or hijacked then I will have to pay 7.5% of car value over and above the R4000 excess.

Is this like a standard thing? They say they will cover install cost. But I will have to pay the monthly fee of R110pm over and above my insurance premium.

Noooooo not normal man

Look at this joker.

And JZ is the best president.

I'm looking, but I'm not laughing, so apparently you're not a joker after all. I can think of a few words that describe you a lot better, but you're already paying someone else to deal with your "adjustment disorder".

Wow people have quite a lot of money to spend on cars, and I thought us Saffas were struggling financially!

This thread explains half our economic problems,he bought the car without actually having that money to spend he bought it on terms with a crap load of interest added in there.

Its a problem in SA, a big problem.

Maybe he's sensible enough to not be paying more than 20% of his net salary on installments and insurance.

21%. But I plan on paying the bank 25% on months which are good to try kill of the settlement much quicker.

what rate did you get if you don't mind me asking. We are in a rate increase cycle at the moment, have you factored in an uplift?

Wow this seems like quite a lot, didn't know 20% was considered to be the sensible limit (just to clarify, I'm not saying you're wrong, I just find it interesting).

I think he doesn't realise the link takes you to the whole listing.

How long can this thread go on though?

I don't think it's a hard and fast rule. Only because car prices are so inflated, I personally wouldn't want to spend more than 10-15%.
