OK grandpa, I'm sure most of us think about engine size(because size matters) and not power/torque.

Turbos are less efficient than non turbos, just accept the fact as any learned person does.

OF COURSE a car with the same capacity fitted with a turbo will burn more fuel...it's making more power. Nobody would put a turbo in a car to make the same power with the same capacity...because that' would be retarded.

Well I'm still not sure where you stand on your statement then.

Basically what is being said from my understanding is that a 150 kw 2.0 Turbo engine will be more efficient than a 150 kw 3.0 litre NA engine.

So therefore with the same power output in mind the Turbo is more efficient as it offers the same power for less fuel.

Just to clarify they often use turbos in these cars that use little 1000-1200cc engines to reduce the fuel efficiency to more normal levels. What happens is cars with big V8's, they are soo fuel inefficient already that no turbo is needed, isn't engineering amazing!

In connection with how turbos are implemented in most modern production cars, they are utilized for net efficiency.

Compare a 2.0 turbo and a 2.0 N/A, the N/A will be more fuel efficient. We are only focussing on fuel efficiency here.

The OP can tell us exactly what they meant by "turbo likely means better with fuel consumption", but I'm telling you that a lot of laymen incorrectly believe a turbo is more fuel efficient in like-for-like engine capacities. We are only focussing on fuel efficiency here.
