What difference would it make

so in which way do the ISP manage the lines? from what i read, the ISP's have no control over the lines, so im curious to know this. Also, fair dos if the ISP takes your call, but if they have no control over the line, and tells you to call Telkom, then what?

When I had a line with WebAfrica you could do a port reset and change the sync rate from their website. So they do have some control, just no physical access to the line.

I don't think that's possible any more. Idiots use to up sync rate to something that was unstable resulting in support tickets and wasting staff resources sending them out to exchanges & customer premises.

hmm this is tempting, and i had a chat to Charl about it. On Telkom 4MB uncapped line, i get to a cost of R773. However if i move my line to Vox, ill get it for R459 + 189 Voice line which totals R648.

Now that is about R65 more than what im currently paying on my 2MB uncapped line. it just doesnt make sense to stay on a 2mb line when i can pay R65 more to transfer my line,

my only question is, i am on month to month, i did get a modem and installation free. so what issues would i encounter with Telkom, if wanted to transfer the line say to Vox and cancel the data portion
