Looks like the CPT DNS is down - I see its been taken off their sever list.
I changed to JNB and London and its streaming perfectly

Forgot to post this - My experience so far:
First of all thanks Chevron and all the other thread here on MYBB i would not now where to start nor would i have this sorted out so quickly :)

Thursday Evening:
-was pretty easy to setup and create profile for the family.
- I bought a pair of WD TV PLAY's - I took a leap of faith on buying 2 of theses as i couldn't find any info on its compatibility with Netflix, and there are some models with Netflix removed - luckily the one on Takealot isn't so Shew :D - nice has a dedicated netflix button on the remote - decent enough for the price but if you have the money from what i have read go for a WD TV Live or Roku
-so The first night i fished quite late I didn't have time to test but seemed working
-Friday after school my 8 year old tried using it herself, figured it out quickly she said it worked fine but kept buffering while she was watching. so went on to netflix to drop to low quality (Im on a 2Mb line on Telkom Isp) still problem, so Saturday couldn't watch jack. Called telkom to increase line to 4Mp line sync changed but Telkom ISP have to wait till Monday for that part - played around till i noticed the CPT DNS is gone. So changed to UK (so JNB and UK) working perfectly.

On the devices i have connected 1 directly via ethernet and the other via wifi (i did use my second router to create a wifi SSID only for this Play so normal traffic from my phones or PC don't mess with it (internal Network traffic).

So all in all I'm going to drop DSTV to Family or Easy view and invest the extra in internet and Netflix

No. Some things, but very little.

Quick answer - look for yourself ;) http://www.moreflicks.com

For example Modern Family is available on Netflix in certain countries so you would update Unotelly's Netflix country setting to one of those.

I introduced the family to Netflix tonight. Its fantastic. I'm glad we never went down the path of TopTV, DSTV or Openview. Its a little intimidating at first because of the breadth of content available, but it is magnificent.

Remember that the content varies from country to country. Moreflicks.com will show you who has what.

There are options?

Edit. Ok premium vs gold? I have no use for a VPN so premium.

What are the signs of a too slow ADSL line? Does it buffer or do you get stuttering playback?

I was watching smoothly last night. This morning it plays a few seconds, freezes for a few seconds. On the settings Netflix is set at auto quality. I'd assume this would adjust the quality to suit the line speed. No one else using the connection. Home alone. No other devices connected.

I am on an mweb 2Mbps standard uncapped account. Well off being throttled.

Any solution? Besides looking at other ISPs? It's early Netflix days for me so I don't want to jump to conclusions.

Try lowering the quality manually.

If Netflix buffers something is wrong.

You sure no Steam/PSN/Anti-virus update isn't happening in the background?

Thanks, I'll try that. Stupid question but I assume when you change the setting on Netflix on the computer it carries that setting across to all devices? Watching on the android app.

Nope, the only device connected, and on at the moment, in the house is my phone.

And if something else was on, based on your first sentence, would Netflix not just reduce the picture quality to compensate for the decreased speed available?

Oh. If you're watching on the Android app then it may not even be your line. You could have wireless interference from neighbours on your wifi. I say try watch something on your PC to see if it buffers, before you change anything else.

My PC is also connected via wifi. Is this known to cause issues? Don't tell me I have to go back in time and get wired?

I'm just saying that if your neighbours use the same wifi channel as you it could cause issues. You could try changing the channel in your router settings. Was probably fine last night because they were out, but now they're home and everyone is using wifi.

And cable isn't going back in time. Wireless is too unstable. If you want something to work without issues cable is the only answer. Just from a gaming standpoint I wouldn't be able to live with the extra latency wireless brings into the situation.

And it gets worse if you don't have a decent device that supports multiple antennas. With only 1 antenna the more devices you connect, the worse it gets.

Edited: Try just rebooting your router as well.

Just gone onto my PC and I see I have some UnoTelly issues. I use UnoHelper and it says account failed. On their site too I get "checking system status..." that just "hangs".
