With all the interest in Netflix lately quite a few people ask what shows and especially documentaries Netflix has.

Below you'll find a bit more than that though. I also what some of the menus look like and how content discovery works.

This is my home page, currently set to US Netflix. Recommendations are based on what I have previously seen and what I have rated or liked/disliked.

You can also create a "watch list" to make things easier.

Below what the home pages of some of the other countries look like:

Ireland:

Brazil:

Norway:

I use MoreFlicks to check what shows are available in what region.

Then if you want to watch Netflix on your Android phone or tablet you can use this:

But you can also set it to show the characters from the shows:

Documentaries.

Plenty of genres to choose from:

They differ from country to country. Ireland for example:

More from US:

Content discovery is helped by rating things you have already watched:

And by telling Netflix what your actual tastes are:

Then if both you and your friends linked your facebook accounts you get to see what they enjoyed.

You have full control over whats get shown to other people. If you want to watch my little pony you can hide it from your friends.

If anyone wants to ask anything specific I'll add. Just let me know.

Doesn't look very remote-friendly. Looks like lots of mouse is needed with those small menus.

This is the PC interface. The menu is different if you're using a device like Roku or WD TV Live.

The WD TV Live actually has an app that makes using the device a lot easier.

Yeh I own a WD LIVE and PS3 (maybe a PS4 if I can convince myself it is worth it). Looking to get Netflix later this year when I move so I'll have to get ADSL as well. I see some people say that a 2MB line is fast enough for SD content so I assume a 4MB line is sufficient?

Yeah. You can actually watch two simultaneous good quality streams with 4Meg.

Then I'll just need to decide on amount of cap. Uncapped has the "fair use ISP interfering" issues and a 200 GB account doesn't. But we'll see when i get there.

Hold the phone, Chev!

You always used to piss me off with Netflix in any and every DSTV thread, but after this I'm seriously considering it :D

Question though: I'm planning on buying both my kids tablets. Will they be able to watch those cartoon channels on there, in their rooms, over wifi? I'm sure there's an Android app out for that?

Thanks for (almost) opening my eyes :p

I didn't know you can tell Netflix your preferences. Will be doing this later. Thanks

Unfortunately it doesn't work with series and sometimes doesn't have movies it should. But it's still in beta.

Sure it does. Just click on the TV Shows button and search as usual.

When you find the show you're interested in click on the netflix icon and you'll see what country has it available to stream.
