Hold the phone, Chev!

You always used to piss me off with Netflix in any and every DSTV thread, but after this I'm seriously considering it :D

Question though: I'm planning on buying both my kids tablets. Will they be able to watch those cartoon channels on there, in their rooms, over wifi? I'm sure there's an Android app out for that?

Thanks for (almost) opening my eyes :p
With the basic netflix streaming account you can watch two different streams at any given time. For an extra £3pm that number can be increased to four.

Netflix does have iOS and Android apps.

Though you may need to get the Netflix app elsewhere (not google play) don't see it as available in RSA store.

Yes, but you need to get the app from other means. I use it on my phone and my brother's tablet.

I didn't know you can tell Netflix your preferences. Will be doing this later. Thanks

Glad to be of help.

And when were they on Box Office? Compare apples with apples man!

Box office you pay per movie. Netflix is a flat fee like DSTV. If you want something like Box Office, look at VUDU.

Sure it does. Just click on the TV Shows button and search as usual.

When you find the show you're interested in click on the netflix icon and you'll see what country has it available to stream.

Then they just added this. Thanks I didn't know.

I signed up to US Netflix so it's $8 for two streams and $12 for four streams.

Correct. The XDA forums always have the latest version there.

This is exactly what I did. I bought my two daughters their own tablets, installed the netflix app on them and they were good to go. it works really well especially when each one wants to watch their own show. If you need the app I can try find it for you - it has to be the latest update if you want to use the profiles which I highly recommend or else Netflix will start recommending all the kiddies shows for you to watch.

WD TV Play

If i buy one an d my wife buys one we can save R100 using vouchers on the take alot thread.
Any one have experience with this?
Im asuming it works since i saw on rogue codes guide this one was recomended:

The APP is only for Android devices.

I use the WD TV Live when I watch on my TV. You also get an app for your phone so you can control it easier and type in movie titles from your phone.

If you want the Netflix app on your TV you need to change your TV region to US, but it's laggy from what I hear. So good choice on the WD TV Live.

Got the WD PLAY - the WD LIVE is above my budget - if i was buying only one id take it but need 2 - so fingers crossed it works

Did the Live come out of the box with Netflix or did you have to do some tweaking?

Why doesnt someone start up a consulting business, to go to people homes and show them how to set this all up?
I know its relatively simple enough, but I personally dont have the time to do it or the time to research how to do it, so I would pay someone to set me up.

Chances are the guy who does as a business this will end up getting tied up in court by Monochoice.
Come to think of it some started a thread on MYBB offering to pay anyone who would help him sort out Netflix.

It take 5min over teamviewer. You just need to be there to enter credit card details.

I wouldnt mind seeing a full working DEMO first.
I'm sure I could figure out the NETFLIX side of things if I have to. I'm not sure what hardware I would need - I need TV in 4 rooms - would this all be via WIFI - how effective would this be and what minimum speed ADSL would I need etc - these are things I'm not sure of.

I'm setting up soon so will give you a low down
but here is what i learnt just from reading threads on mYBB:
Both netflix and Uno telly (you need uno telly to fool netflix into thinking you are in the states or UK etc) have a free trial period of a few days (8 I think)
You can have unlimited devices connected to one account with 4 profiles (Like say 1 for you, one for the wife and 1 for each of the kids etc) but you can only watch 2 streams at the same time on the basic account $3 extra for 4 streams (I think thats right)
YOu can stream Via wifi but as with anything distance and strength of signal can affect quality - so where possible ethernet cable is recommended
1 or 2Mb ADSL is minimum for SD quality (Hi def maybe on 2Mb) 4Mb plus for Hi def
