Hey~

When I was reading now now.. on the threads, someone asked about Multisession... Can I just ask what it is... because when I burn out DVD, they do ask about it...

So I am just wondering...

Thanks

Burning a multisession disk means that you can add content to it later. Where finalize means that you can burn once only.

on some burners it is called "Leave Disc Open" or "Disc-at-once" - that setting.

Leaving the disc open means you can add more stuff later.

Closing or finalising the disc means you can't.

But "leave it open" isn't that an option at the end of the process where they ask whether you want to close the disc or not..

But there is a warning about if you burn with multi some DVD rom can't read iit?

But if it just closes the disc, why can't other DVD rom read it?

Quite correct. Some DVD players or ROM's cannot read "unfinalised" discs. e.g. a home theatre system needs to know the start and end point of the data on the disc. If it cannot detect an end point, it gives you an "invalid disc" error.

Oh I see..

But even if you burn one that is not closed, can you close it..

Like say after you burn it.. you leave it open, and then later you realise that there isn't anything else that you want to put on.. can you just "close" the disc without burning additional things on the disc?
