I dunno hey i know 2 people, one is married the other one engaged via online dating.

My one buddie got married to a chick who flew from the US to SA.

Online dating is not a bunch of strange people now in all honesty, much the same as back in the day if you said you were a pc tech everyone thought you are a geek or something, these days everyone uses pc's and knows about them so that stigma has changed much like online dating.
