Here's an Idea, use CISP :p/ . Apart from always best Netflix performance provider on mybb articles, they come highly recommended. :) .

I know that CISP is the "creme-dela-creme" here on MyBB and overall, but it's just a tiny bit out of my price range at the moment seeing that I'm becoming a parent at the end of September. So, I need to scale down, but perhaps in the future, I'll acquire their services :)

I moved from Afrihost to CISP cause I get overall better value for the same money.

My OpenServe (20mbps) is not too bad ! Installation was fast ! (went with ISPAfrika at first and they were brilliant with making scheduling and ordering my OpenServe installation). My gf also has an OpenServe connection but previous owners took network ONT device with ??? Garth from ISPAfrika organised everything and she got installation second business day.
OpenServe has been ok (for a telkom company anyway)

The installation process took some time, but since our Openserve fibre was installed we did not have any problems with it. Works as promised.
Openserve is Telkom which means it is a Telkom company. What I do not like about Telkom/Openserve it has a Fair user policy in this day and age why would you want to be throttled?
This was an ADSL thing to assure no 1 user uses all the bandwidth so all users from the exchange will have the fair bandwidth and use. With Fibre the tech work not the same I see no need for such a FUP in this day and age.

Fibre in the last mile only eliminates the ADSL capacity constraint between you and the nearest node. The backbone to the exchange or node is the same, and has been on fibre for more than 30 years. Therefore there was never a real justification for FUP, IF sufficient backbone capacity existed. And that was and is still the issue. Just because the network is on fibre does not guarantee that sufficient capacity has been provided.
So, the real issue has and will always be a business plan matter and NOT a technical one.

None whatsoever.

I eventually went with CISP last month.

Ordered a 100mb Openserve line on a Tuesday, was installed by Friday and since then it's been running like a baws!

If you on openserv, you use IPC, its so expensive for the ISP's they kinda forced to shape seeing as local breakout from openserv is more expensive than international traffic to London
