What local broadband users want

chose cap.

but the poll is flawed. should be at least 2 options to choose. or maybe a longer list of wants, with the ability to choose 3 or 4.

i chose cap because for the pricces we are paying, we should be getting a lot more in terms of cap size. but then also at a higher speed. with latency also sharp. but that is where I have decided to keep the price constant.
 
price i would not mind paying less for what im getting stretch every rand as far as possible.
 
'Price'.. cap is directly related to the price of the overall service as well as reliability in a lesser direct manner/more so for business/sme. The other factors all contribute to the perceived price.. so e.g. iburst R49 'broadband' adverts fail on price even tho purely from a Rand point of view, it is the cheapest.
 
I'm with krycor on this one. All the options are related to the price :(

Everyone wants affordable, fast, reliable Internet without being capped. I would be OK with paying current local-only tariffs for international bandwidth :)
 
Cap, while I agree what you lot are saying I recon it's a pointless argument to argue price. I fear that doing that will make ISP's come to the market with lots more of those crappy 100 megs for 50 bucks products which is completely counter productive.

So, because there is virtually no use for a R50 broadband service which only has 50 megs of data and also because the fastest link in the world is useless on a 3 (or 5) gig cap, I really don't like this statement:

It should be clear to anyone viewing the results of this survey that by "price" any sensible person would be meaning "value for money". So a 1Mb cap at R10 is not going to appease us.

Therefore price is directly linked to cap.

To put forward a similar argument as you have but regarding the choice of cap, the ISPs can just put out plenty "crappy" uncapped products at R1000 for a 384k service and say "there you go, that is what you wanted".

Price is the only way to go!
 
All of the above is important. It should be in order of priority. That would be a better poll.
 
I recent survey showed that broadband surveys are generally useless.

I think price should be removed from the poll. And perhaps reliability too. Then we would see what people want for their money assuming the service is reliable because, let's face it, who wants an unreliable service?
