What PC Parts :(

Unless I go for a Mini Tower setup (if the mobo will fit) as I will really only need a SSD drive and another 3.5 HDD. Also a GPU needs to fit but won't need many drives as I have a server already running.

Or is that not advisable?

Yeah, don't go as low down as the 750ti.

Rather save R1000 and get:

I did recommend the R9 380, but I will see when PotterH gets back to him with availability and cost what the best system is I can put together. I really like both the cases above, I actually have the K280 myself, the only thing I don't like is the front USB is one USB 2.0 and one 3.0.

So you think I should rather go for a midi-tower than one of those small mini towers?

I am waiting to hear back from PotterH with regards to stock.

I really like the case you linked to, but I don't know how many drives you need, also if you check, the mini tower and midi tower, Cooler Master N200 and N400, is only R93 difference, but cases are really personal preference. You choose the one that has the things you need and looks good to you and I will make the build around it.

Yeah agree, maybe for future might want to add more drives. I will go for the one I linked to earlier then, the N400 for R900 then.

You can also probably add the Corsair VS550 to the list, it's the PSU I was going to go with from the start. Now just the wait to see what GPU and SSD we can get to fit the budget when PotterH gets back to you.

So is the VS550 the best one in the price range and will be powerful enough to run the system?

Cooler Master N400 - R898

VS550 - R819

I see Rebeltech sell the power supply for R20 more than Wootware but then I need to pay for shipping still so maybe makes more sense getting the power supply and case from Rebeltech or everything from Wootware? If the prices are alot different, then don't mind paying shipping from different companies etc.

The Corsair will do everything you need and has a 3 year warranty.

I just checked and buying both items from either Rebel Tech or Wootware with delivery to Cape Town is R2 difference. You can just double check with your actual home address to make sure, but it looks like it doesn't matter who you buy from. When adding a GPU and SSD the price might be better from one of them and you will have the site you order everything from.

Yeah makes sense.

Still haven't heard from PotterH yet but lets for now say we go for the i5 bundle at R3299.

Thats means we currently at:

CPU, Mobo and RAM - R3299
Case - R898
PSU - R819

Total - R5016

So just GPU and storage then? Or am I forgetting something else again?

Don't think you are forgetting something, I really want you to get the R9 380 and a 250GB SSD but that puts you over budget by R764.

Ahhhh I just misread then.

Yeah if the R764 extra for a much better GPU is worth it then will stick to that.

The R764 extra will be 100% worth it to have a nice GPU and SSD, I don't know if you've had a fast SSD before but it's going to blow your mind.

Yeah I have been using SSD's for the last few years (every machine in our house has one :) )

OK cool so if you say it worth the little extra I will just wait to hear back from PotterH then.

It will be worth it if you want the system to perform great and last you a couple of years.

So it seems PotterH is out of stock of the bundle. I could possibly wait to see if he gets more stock but just want to check, what if I went for a mini-itx build, the mobo in the bundle wouldn't fit so what mobo would you recommend? I just want to see what the price will be if I went mini-itx using this case:

Cooler Master Elite 130 - or similar form factor?

From what I have read the GPU and PSU originally suggested will fit so will just need to buy a mobo and RAM as I will buy the CPU from PotterH if the price doesn't jump too much.

What you think?
 
Really is too bad about the bundles, they were amazing deals. You won't have all the ports of the full sized boards but something like this should do the job:

MSI H81I

Corsair Value 8GB

Edit: You can check on Carbonite, there is a guy in Cape Town wanting to sell a Asus H81I-Plus and i5 4460. This thread.
