What range extender to use with Linksys WRT42GL

I have a Linksys WRT42GL router in use currently. Works perfectly fine except that I cannot get signal in one or two offices.

Have googled it and come up with the Linksys RE1000 range extender which sells for +- R 750 online.

Has anyone used this and has comments on its performance?

Also I have been told that I can use a Dlink and Netgear range extender as well without any issues.

Has anyone had experience or can comment on that?

What would be the better option. Thanks

I love the design of the RE1000, it has the option of plugging straight into the wall with a built in two-prong plug (or a corded option in case that positioning doesn't work).

However, the fact that the D-Link DAP-1360 (AP/Repeater/Bridge/etc) has external antennas helps when it comes to repeating very weak signal.

If you have a good spot to place the repeater in the middle of the office and looks matter - go for the RE1000 - otherwise I have to recommend the D-Link.

Hi There,
I would prefer the external antennas as Dean mentioned. While the plug in the wall feature is nice most plugs are close to the floor which is not necessarily as good in distributing the signal.
