The 2-1 result is very possible but most probably Mexico and Uruguay will play for the draw...BUT if anything, Mexico will probably push for a win to try to avoid Argentina...not good news for us.
I agree. I am still 100% behind bafana bafana. They did not do badly all things considered. I am proud of them.
It would be awesome if we can draw or even beat the french!

Let's face it, this is a far cry from the useless team we've had for more than 8 years now - at least we have something to build on - CP has instilled some discipline - players are passing to each other (yes, yes, I know it's mostly in their own half but there is the makings of some shape and structure - a far cry from the hopeless individualism of before), we scored at least one goal (France, Spain have none with all those stars) and who knows, we may score more.
Stranger things have happened - we know we don't "deserve" to be in the last 16, but hell, it would be lekker if we were!

while I'm still fully behind the boyz, I'm not going to waste my time on what-if scenarios - Bafana is not going to round 2, we are out, its over.
rather then dreaming about a 5-0 France win, why not give all the other guys a decent run and just enjoy the last match.

Wonder if the French being the passionate nation they are will feel charitable on the big night and "allow us" a 5 goal victory?? I accept the notion is preposterous but they're effectively out and I'm sure the importance and magnitude of the host nation advancing to the next round is not lost on them.. Just a thought...

The French have a better chance that we do of going to the next round, based on GD alone though. You also can't discount the pride French people have in their team -- just imagine the ****storm in the French media (if one hasn't hit already) if they lose to a lowly-ranked team like Bafana Bafana.
eh? passing to each other? how do you pass to each other if you cannot hold onto the ball for more than 2 touches? first touch control second touch to setup the pass or even second touch to pass... yet these are the most basic feats which I did not see Bafana do...
