What speed over WiFi ?

What speed do you guys get when transferring a large file with a 11Mbit PCMCIA ? I only get 650kbits in the same room as the router, but i am waiting for my external antenna to arrive which my card needs as it does not have an internal one.

that is the speed you will get.
it is a theoretical 11mbit (In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice there is)

802.11g = theoretical 54mbits but will transfer from about 1.5MB(1500K) to 2.5MB maybe more. but not much

Your speed is in proportion to signal. So do not worry when you have an antenna it will improve.

11meg = 802.11b = 4 megs data throughput

yes it will help a bit but not as much as one would like.
you will probably never get over 800KB/s

11mbits = 1.375MB/s but that is theory there is also overheads so your rate drop to 650-700KB/s
