I don't know what to do. Stocks started crashing so I sold them. Now I own Rands that loses it's value almost just as quickly. Man how can I make my money work for me cause this is simply not working.

recovery to R8.25 tomorrow
Stick with it... Think long term... The volatility of the market is always temporary
Usually this is the way to go, but i just read an article in Beeld that advises against this, as this time the crisis is on a larger scale and may last longer.

I agree. The Dollar is ultimately in for a big fall. The bank rescue plan is only a temporary reprieve. It only addresses the symptoms of the financial crisis and not the causes.
dollar drops! Rand drops harder and further to the dollar. If the dollar worsens further its going to affect sa and the rand more than most people think. The rand is loosing its value to other currencies too, currently R15 to the £.
I don't agree with you that the drop in the Dollar means a harder fall for the Rand. There is no doubt that what happens in the American economy affects the rest of the world. A drop in the Dollar, over time, will be a result of non-US holders of Dollar denominated assets, dumping them and heading for safer havens. I predict that the US is heading for an extremely hard landing. I think ours will be much softer.
