What the telecoms CEOs earn

I wonder if its worth Alans continuous heart attacks?
I know the CEO of Edcon took home R111 000 000 last year!:o
 
I wish I was Alan Knott-Craig!!!!

Why don't we get a guy like Alan to build up our Electricity sector in SA. I bet he'll be able to pull it off!

I realiase that these CEO's are under pressure, but what kind of pressure? Alan's been the boss of VC since the time of Noah's ark. He knows he's successful, then why worry? He seems to make the right choices nearly all of the time IF NOT ALL OF THE TIME.

I would love to hear you opninions on this. I know his heart is a problem, but what causes that kind of stress??? He looks very healthy and thin, so he's not obese? Maybe he smokes to much if he smokes???

Guys this is nothing compared to the banks.. Standard bank ceo Maree got a total of R28m in 2005 (including share options)

I dont think its a lot of money for these guys to be honest. Hiflyer i promise u if u ran mtn for a month for 10 times the salary ud probably run in it into the ground. Its not as easy as you think. People dont pay money for nothing. We always judge high salaries. Its simlar to a streetsweeper looking at a computer dude and saying wtf, all he does is sit in front of the computer and earn so much... while i work here so hard..I could also do that. Meanwhile he doesnt even know how to type...
we probably dont know the first thing about what these guys have to do. Boards dont pay high salaries for no reason, they arent retarded.
Its all relative.

If u say so..But its not as easy as u think i promise. Were engineers yes..
I used to be like that too. I used to think all those business ppl do is go to meetings and talk rubbish.. but its not true. The board wont pay millions for ppl to do that cos any1 can do that. And i think accountants may do a better job as ceo cos they know abt costs etc.

That said, Saule im sorry dude, i feel ur pain :P Accounting at school was enuf for me. Cant imagine doing it for my whole life. Y not do business science or acc science or something... Its more interesting and ud prob earn more neway.

A friend of mine is very high ranked in one of SAs big banks, he told me once that he sat in meeting for one month and said nothing constructive but still took home 650k that month.
 
Then you get people that's got to be happy with taking home R40,000.00 per month.

I don't understand how one person can get R9 250 000.00 per month. That's just insane.
