What's for dinner darling?

Anything involving mushrooms, tomato and cheese is usually a winner. Steak if budget allows.

Last night I did couscous, some roasted veggies with herbs and garlic and a roast chicken. The veggies and roasted chicken were bought from PnP :D

Monday's dinner was spicy rice with veggie stirfry (a 1-dish-wonder)

All from woolies.

Rotisserie chicken grilled until skin is crispy.
Patato salad
3 Bean salad
Pack of mixed vegies for steaming.
Some nice rolls

My favorite : boil some kind of pasta (fettuccine is my fav)

Once the pasta is cooked fry some chopped ham (I like to do it with 150g pepper ham) in real butter, add about 250ml cream and about 150ml milk. Cook the lot untill the milk and cream have reduced to a thick sauce.
Toss the fettuccine into the pan with the sauce and coat the lot with the ham/sauce. Fry it all for another minute or so. Serve strait away.

All in all it takes about 10 min. Excluding the boiling time tho.

Otherwise when I'm lazy(er) I just brown 400g of mince, bang in a can of Chakalaka (not the hot one, otherwise I am in trouble, tho I love it) serve it with rice. Beware tho. My wife tells me that even the medium one is quite hot.

RARE now you're talking my language - I'm always joking with my husband ... he wants that perfect golf swing and I want a steak braaied RARE enough.
and garlic rolls/bread you just have to make it yourself ...

I'm known for my garlic bread:
French loaf
Real butter
Cheddar and mozzarello cheese mixed
Parsley
Fresh garlic
Salt/pepper/Aromat

My wife and I will look at each other, ask who's cooking tonighta nd then proceed to have a mild debate until such time as the kids volunteer to cook.

If it's my turn then it is pasta (any type) or curry and rice or bangers and mash with peas... used to enjoy cooking, but have got very lazy as of late!!

I can recommend the 1 Kg Lasagne at Woolies (I just put it into another dish and add more cheese on top) that with salad and an olive loaf is my mommy's night off dinner.

That sounds lovely, will give it a try.

My boys are not old enough yet ... damn ... and my husband only braais so the kitchen is all mine, I must say I enjoy it ... a glass of wine or a cold beer depending on the weather while
you're making dinner makes it quite pleasant!

How about doing a roster so that all of you have a specific day for making dinner, then at least you know the nights that you're off.

I used to do Mon, Wed, Sat and my wife the other days with Friday being help yourself (hot dogs/hamburgers). But I've been away from home a lot lately and am only here every second weekend...
