New England clam chowder and fresh baked seed bread. No pics tonight because of laziness

Where does one buy decent Thai Red Curry Paste?

I've found Mae Ploy to be decent for Green Curry Paste. You can probably find it at your nearest Asian supermarket, but go for the single servings at first to see if you like it.

New England clam chowder
Something I've always like the idea of eating due it being something that gets brought up in movies, series etc. Some New Yorker is always popping out to get clam chowder.

It's so easy to make. But the clams suffered some serious shrinkage so you need to like..... Get better clams or something.

Should I read that as China Town?

Because I’ve never seen or heard of an Asian Supermarket here.

Partly why I needed to ask the question as I just don’t see these products in regular brand name shops.

Made a lovely Haddock + Pumpkin curry tonight using some generic crap and although it was great I’m sure it would have been amazing with the more authentic Paste.

What’s the difference between red and green? Hotness?

Red is based on the chillies and tomato paste. Green is based on herbs like lemongrass, basil, coriander, lime leaves, galangal. They have a completely different flavour.

Thank you.

I figured red would be hotter and green the more flavourful option.

Just didn’t know the in depth difference.

I’ll get both anyway.

Actually the green is hotter than the red. Dee Thai is also a well known brand of good quality. Available at most Chinese supermarkets.

Makes sense as some of the Thai Green Curries I’ve had were insane.

I laughed at Google Maps now though which suggested Korean Auto Spares. But I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they also sold Asian food stuffs.

I'm probably going to regret this in the morning… a donner kebab.
