Does anyone have a good recipe for Beef Trinchado? I would like to make it for supper but it's a first for me. I have the tenderized steak marinading in garlic, smoked chili flakes and paprika for the day but there are so many recipes for different sauces. I'm looking for the modish creamy wine based sauce. Thanks.

Tried the chickpea curry again again but in the slow cooker this time hoping it would draw the flavours out.

Added lentils to the mix and kept it vegetarian but it still doesn't seem quite right and a little bland.

I prefer frying the onion first. Then adding a bit of liquid and the curry spice (or even a quick dry-fry without liquid) - that little bit of high heat brings out the flavor of the spice, then add rest of the liquid & ingredients. Looks like it needs some pumpkin, red peppers & chillis. Have you tried using a red-thai curry sauce instead of the curry powder?

I do exactly as you described with the frying of onions etc.

The recipe called for pumpkin purée indeed which my wife could find and I wasn't desperate enough to go looking for, but yes it probably would have made all the difference.

You mean like a curry paste? Worth a shot. I try to keep it child friendly so not too crazy with the chili. I want flavour more than than burn. There is some cayenne pepper in here that I made myself but very little.

I basically blended a few recipes for a middle ground but this time that didn't work out.

But I'm gatvol of chickpeas for now. Will try a lamb vindaloo or something next time.

^ that looks smashing.

We had boerewors and jalapeño Shakshuka.

Tonight I added a cup of cheddar to the sauce right before I added the eggs. Was delicious.

Doesn't look like much but dear oh dear it was full of flavour and heat.
