Yum... Haven't had prawns in ages.

I just made a pepper and mushroom gravy and added pieces of left over rump from last night to that.

Served it in Chinese cabbage leaves ala taco style. With feta crumbled over the top.

Tasted a lot better than it looked.

Crispy ginger fried rice with rum and lime prawns

The crispy ginger fried rice sounds interesting. As simple as it sounds?

My son made a nice meal for us last night. He's training to be a chef so all made from scratch.

A bit of a custom creation.

Basically a carpetbagger wrapped in bacon.

****

So some sirloins from Joey's.

Then what I thought were smoked oysters in the cupboard were actually mussels on a picante sauce/dressing.

This is when I realise that there are no toothpicks in the house...preparation really was questionable today it seems.

So off to the wife's needlework stash and then some creative binding.

Flash in the pan with some butter, maybe 3 minutes a side total.

Meanwhile some New Potatoes in the oven with salt, pepper and paprika.

Forgot to take pic of the bacon wrap as I was rushing to get it on the oven.

Didn't do a weave as it would require way too much bacon and that was a good call as this was super filling already.

A very good meal overall. Not something I'll have often as it's very rich and a bit of work as well but a good special treat.

First shot of the sirloins are cool.
The rest don't look particularly appetizing. Something about it looks very corpse-like / bodyworlds exhibition.
Sure it tasted delicious though :).

Had around 12 to dinner today and cooked for them all so I was basically the whole day in the kitchen. My favourite meal, pulled pork enchiladas with handmade masa tortillas, with red rice, corn avo prawn salad and then I baked a cream cheese/sour cream cheesecake, no pic of that though sorry but it was all a success and I've got a wicked head cold thing

Lol@bodyworlds.

I think it's the bloody cold LED lights in my kitchen.

Plan to swop them all out for a warmer white soon.

For me it's the other way round though. The steak doesn't appear nearly as red in the photo as it does in real life until the later photos.

But I'm trying to put an effort into these pictures, thus the need to change the lights.

Cooked duck breast for the first time.
Scared to eat it medium rare but turned out great. Wow. Starting to become my 3rd favorite meat.

Made sweet and sour chicken last night with veggies .. used a cook in sauce from checkers and just added some chicken thigh fillets, ginger, garlic, chilli and a small bag of veg. Was really good.

meat looks good randhir

there is always patience in a good steak and you also need a controlled environment

wish i had a small room just to dry age steaks
