Got a new enamelled cast iron so I made some chicken breyani for the family to test it out.
Aah I have the 20cm which upon arrival I thought was way too small, but it’s perfect for rice, popcorn, potatoes, noodles, sauce and whatever else as a daily driver.
I’ll probably get a 28 or 30 to go with it at some point for the more occasional stuff.
Nice, but heavy - as has been mentioned previously.
It’s a pot though, not like you need to shake it around.
For sure, I love my Lodge 28".
To move it I have to stand just right, prepare myself and move the pot quickly to a board. It's even heavier with food in it.
EDIT: Not such an issue for a guy.
I'm guessing that's 28cmWhere did you get a Lodge locally?
28” is monstrous though and surely not a day to day cooking option.
That’s bigger than the average slow cooker.

One would hope so.
But a 28cm isn’t THAT heavy.
Years ago, when the previous importer stopped bringing them in (think they were in Fourways) I got that and a deep frying pan? Skillet? It is humungous and definitely not for daily cooking but I was feeding 5 adults and it came in useful when we entertained.Where did you get a Lodge locally?

Maybe to us. But to anyone built smaller, having to deal with a heavy pot or pan while it's filled with food and frequently blazing hot can be problem.

Since I've moved into a smaller place i've had to give it to family.
EDIT: used one of the other beeg pots for soup a few weeks ago. It's looks disgusting but it's just bone broth and soup mix at this stage.
