I'll trade my supper for yours

1 Cheap pizza base (Bought at PnP)
Some bottled pasta sauce
4 diced Vienna sausages (PnP noname brand ... what were I thinking. Bacon is too expensive though :( )
1/2 packet of sliced white button mushrooms
Cheyeeze (Tussers ... the cheapest at PnP)

result ... meh.

I saw a very nice recipe for a prawn and chilli risotto in a magazine tonight .
Damn sounds fantastic although I'm so off prawns, last prawn dinner made me ill, 1 or 2 slightly off baby prawns and that was me, man down for 24 hours...

Don't fall for the "low fat" feta cheese. It is a scam. Feta cheese in itself is pretty low fat and considering the quantities used in most dishes that call for it, contain hardly any fat. It's such a heap of crap. Please people, use your nogins and take your business elsewhere if the stores continue trying to rip you off like this. Lets get back to proper fresh food - not this chemically enhanced rubbish that they flout as organic...

Wonder what DJK's having for supper?

I went out for supper tonight. I had lamb carpaccio to start (very nice) and ravioli (pecan nut, spinach, nutmeg and creme fraiche) with a three cheese sauce for mains - was delicious!!! I hardly ever eat dessert unless something screams out at me, but nothing did tonight so I just had a bite of my date's cheesecake - again, very nice...!!!

This is a new restaurant opening soon in Sandton and the quality of their food is amazing. We didn't get the full effect of the ambience considering that is one aspect that is delaying the project, however it was a great evening. But what I have noticed is that OK food with great company is always better than great food with mediocre company. And I might be a little biased as well...:o

Yes, we're fortunate, we have some brilliant restaurants around here. The service is not always that good, but we avoid those ones.

Since you seem to know a little bit about food (;)), try the restaurant called Roots at the Forum Homini Boutique Hotel at the Cradle of Man.

Oh and by the way, Trishna's in Illovo closed. Pity.

Pity about Trishna's - that lamb biryani was lovely. Will have a look at Roots, thanks. What cuisine do they specialise in?

Don't know why people consider baby marrows to be edible. It tastes disgusting.
