What's going on MWEB?

For the last 2 days my international online gaming has been impossible. Speed tests et all test as normal, just no connection to gaming servers work. We had the same issue a couple of months ago, complained, and it got "fixed". Broken again now.

I agree that ISP is a personal choice and I agree that one ISP may seem to represent value to one subscriber while being the pits for another.

Having said that, the issue I have with MWEB is one of principle. Their network and infrastructure is good.

MWEB - when managed by Rudi Jansen, revolutionosed the web. He freed the web. He started ''uncapped"' in SA. This allowed MWEB to become the biggest and argueably best ISP in the country. Rudi left, and Derek Hershaw took the reigns.

Unilaterally, he dedided to undo all the good will and internet freedom that EVERY MWEB subscriber used to enjoy. MWEBs throttle policy became silly and un defined.

To boot, subscribers were sent very poorly constructed letters basically telling them they were lower than doggie doo. Suddenly, it was a crime to be a heavy user, and where you were a heavy user, legitimate or not ..... in MWEBs eyes you were an abuser, a torrent whore .......

And the kicker was that for all this MWEB increased their prices while offering less. The MWEB shop in my area closed up, despite it being in the largest mall in KZN at the time.

I am happy for those people who are happy with MWEB.

But for me, I refuse to give my cash to benefit a CEO who I feel has morally wronged me and a whole bunch of other consumers.
IMHO MWEB can kiss my lily white are sole.

Thanks was just about to post something similar.

It's all about principle.

Why do you say "used to"?

Nothing's changed, unless you're a downloader/very heavy user (about 0.5% of total users).

MWEB is the best of all I've tried so far (I won't pay for business uncapped :) and I stick within their limits for throttling) .. but the past few days Google services have been horrific.

Thanks for the support guys :)

It is much appreciated!!

Have a great weekend!!

Prove me wrong then please?

In my experience with any company using IS as their backbone, I would get throttled threw my *******. And that's without torrents, just gaming. Then tried mweb and honestly it's been the best service I have ever had. I have no reason to change ISPs. I was voicing my opinion.

I will rather not comment and allow you your opinion.

(I'm happy you found a ISP with integrity and a passion for their clients and who strives to put your needs before money. )

Thank you for doing your bit towards keeping the abusers away from the best quality/value ISP in the country. :)

Long live MWEB, long live.

On a side note, even in an unthrottled state with MWEB, services have always been slow.
Youtube for example, different ISP now YouTube works so much better.

Clients can see a big improvement now in general internet use, not using MWEB.
Before people start bashing, prior to the ISP change MWEB data was "unthrottled". With still poor performance.
That is just 1 example.

Afternoon LinuxMan, please provide me the MWEB account details you are currently using.
