extremeshok.com host my site and they have been down since yesterday. Does anyone know what's going on? I haven't been able to contact them by email or by phone? I have no incoming mail, my site is down and their extremeshok.com site is down.

Their site is loading fine for me. Their WHOIS records indicate a contact number of: 082 324 6702, maybe try calling them.

It could be that their firewall has blocked your IP address.

That is the usual phone nr I use. The oke who runs it, Adrian Kriel, usually gives me good, prompt service. I've been with him for 6 years and I'm going to have to drop him if I don't get any joy in the next couple of hours.

Strange that extremeshok.com loads fine at your side. I get nothing but timeouts and the blocked IP address explanation is only valid if iBurst has given me the same IP address every time I have logged in since yesterday, which I doubt.

You're welcome. It's not perfect, but it's better than being in the dark. Good luck getting back on track and with the domain ordeal - unfortunately the domain name needs to be paid before it can be transferred / updated (if you do decide to leave) so you might end up having to pay another renewal / registration fee if you move

Just wanted to say that. It seems to be online for me too. And looks like all the accounts are on the same server as your hosting account. So your account should be online.

I have now made contact with Extremeshok admin and he says my IP is blacklisted! This is strange since I don't have a fixed IP addr. iBurst support is no help right now. Extremeshok is working on it ...

It probably has nothing to do with iBurst and should take 30 seconds to fix. Usually the IP range will be banned. Good to hear you came right.

This is still ongoing, but at least I now have iBurst and extremeshok working on it. Initially they were referring me to each other. Extremeshok are now offering support via Skype which is convenient.

It is the weirdest thing. Extremeshok says my IP addr is not being blocked by the server, although it does appear on one or two blacklists. Besides, I get a new IP addr every time I log in. I checked a few of the what's-my-IP sites out there and many of them only give me the iBurst proxy IP, while only a few pick up my actual temp IP. It made me wonder if the problem is with the proxy IP because that is always the same.

It also gave me the idea of reading mail via a proxy server, and that worked.

Extremeshok had me do a traceroute and this is what I got:

Which blacklists is your IP address on? Mail blacklists?

Turns out it was blacklisted by MTN, a major bandwidth supplier to iBurst. This was at the request of ABSA bank because of all that phishing spam getting pumped out, none of which actually came from that server.
