What's wrong with S.A rice?

A bit off topic. For the first time in years I bought Kellogs Rice krispies and they had a weird plasticky taste, they're also very pale compared to what I remember.
Everyones tastes buds are different these days, most people blame Covid for this

Our rice went downhill a while ago.

Ide like to say we’re getting cheap rice from china but I’ve had cheap rice from china and it’s still better than this!

I just stick to basmati now, much nicer.
yea Before the China Mall died a slow death we would go there with the primary purpose of buying brown rice and basmati rice, R80 for a 5kg bag but was a few years back.

Oyeah.. very friendly.
I like their greeting "Shap shap"

Though I'm a bit surprised by the large number of beggars around the streets.
The locals say it is the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, people lost jobs.

But my guts tell me that this is the byproduct of the Apartheid era. Why white beggars are very few to none?

However, they are not hostile. They ask for coins, you give them.
If you don't, they go on with their business.
Come to the other side of the boerewors curtain and you will see plenty white beggars.

Does anyone have a nice family recipe for rice pudding? Not interested in the googled recipes on the internet

Why does franchise type estabblishment rice taste so k@k?

I am talking Ocean Basket and Nando's, I know there more, but those two are main culprits.
