Oyeah.. very friendly.
I like their greeting "Shap shap"

Though I'm a bit surprised by the large number of beggars around the streets.
The locals say it is the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, people lost jobs.

But my guts tell me that this is the byproduct of the Apartheid era. Why white beggars are very few to none?

However, they are not hostile. They ask for coins, you give them.
If you don't, they go on with their business.

Nope, has nothing to do with apartheid, That is what lazy south africans will tell you. They dont want to work so they blame their misfortunes on apartheid. Dont listen to that bull crap.
 
Get Nur Jahan white basmati rice.

I buy a 20Kg cloth sack of that every month from Gorima's Spice Shop.
Boil the rice as usual. Add salt to taste while it's almost done boiling (This prevents it from getting sticky), then a teaspoon of butter ghee after you strain it.
I usually roll them into small balls and eat them as is.
 
White beggars are all heroin/tik addicts or alkies that have naaied everyone they ever knew to the point that they are on the streets begging for a fix.

The other beggars have been fed the lie by the ANC that they can get everything for free and the ANC knowing their own people well, knew it was a lie they would fall for.

If you buy at Gorima's, you are probably paying 15% more than other sub-continental shops.

Yeah I gladly pay the 10% extra at Gorimas. Their rice is fresh and imported recently. Noticeably better freshness than the other sub-shops tbh.

Edit: Is it just me or is there anybody else who slaps the 10/20kg rice packets as they pass them in the shops? Strngely satisying to hear that Thwack of the cloth sack or plastic wrap.

Long grain is better. Jasmine my favorite. Not all equal though. You can buy bulk. And cheaper. I've tried Bimbrie brand, which I didn't like much. There's also a brand called Akila that I haven't tried yet, but I'm thinking about it. That one you can buy in 30kg bags lol.

Tastic Jasmine Rice is decent for my needs usually.

Although it is completely folksvreemd, I have had the lekkerste kerrie-en-rys with Jasmyn. Not what you get at a AGS kermis, but jasmyn makes a lekker kerrie-en-rys

I am from East pakistan. Get basmati rice from East Pakistan available in sub-continent shops. You can also get it from West Pakistani shops which are sometimes called Indian shops.
