Whatsapp calls not coming through.

Hi guys.

Does anyone have issues with not receiving whatsapp calls. It happens on both my iPhone and Huawei Mate 40. All I get is a missed call notification.

Yes, I have this problem on a Xiomi Redmi 9. Drives me bonkers because it just stops working at random times.

I also have it where I will be busy with a WhatsApp chat with someone, after maybe 3 or 4 messages to and fro the notification sound will stop but I still get a notification pop-up.

Edit: Do you use WhatsApp Web or the WA app in conjunction with the WA app on your phone/s?

Did you check your notification settings when the phone is locked?
When the phone is unlocked, do calls come through?
 
I had 3 missed WhatsApp calls - from the same number - just yesterday. The phone was sitting next to me on my desk, didn't make a sound or turn the screen on. All I got was a pop-up notification advising me of 3 missed calls. This notification was logged by an app that I installed to try and make sense of the problem. There is a whole bunch of stuff logged but I don't know what to make of it.
 
WhatsApp calls ring but go no further that “connecting” I’ve tried all the suggestions given by WhatsApp and various tech sites, but nothing helps. The problem has persisted for over a month.
 
Things to check:
WhatsApp is open
WhatsApp background process is enabled
Notifications on WhatsApp is on
Battery saver mode is not enabled

OP is missing but I'll respond:

All these settings/states have been checked and reset/set again many times. It remains random.
 
Been having it for years ... it will ring now and with a second call 2min later it will not. It's totally random and have the same effect with screen on/off or background settings on/off

It's not a phone thing, IT'S A WHATSAPP F'up .... Numerous people I've asked had/have the same issue and whatsapp support refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem :mad:
 
I'm busy now with a chat, WhatsApp app open on my desktop, I'm typing on that since it's faster. Phone is right next to me.

In the last 30 minutes I have received and replied to 14 chats, from the same number. Out of these:

2 no notification at all on phone
3 pop-up notification received on phone but no sound alert
9 received with sound and pop-up

The logger that I installed on the phone shows the following in the last 3 lines for succesfully received sound and pop-up:

"interruption filter": 1,
"listener hints":0,
"matchesInterruptionFilter": true

and for chats received with pop- up but no sound:

"interruption filter": 1,
"listener hints":0,
"matchesInterruptionFilter": false

I'm very relieved someone else has the same issue. I also tried WhatsApp support and we just went round in circles.

Are you using WhatsApp web or the app on your desktop?

Was on web version for years but when I went over to Win 11 a few months ago, I went over to the Desktop install (Not the app from the store)

I don't see it being an issue with my phones as it happens on both iPhone and android platforms.

All I get is missed call notification but no call. Drives me crazy. WhatsApp web is active all the time in laptop.

Oh and I forgot to mention. It doesn't matter if I am connected to WiFi or mobile data.
 
I'm fairly sure it is a problem that is restricted to WhatsApp, since I get notifications from at least 5 other platforms/apps, and they are consistent. I wonder if there is perhaps a conflict when WhatsApp web or the PC app is open and in focus at the same time?
 
No incoming calls on iPhone via WhatsApp. Friend called me on my 021- number, asking why I did not answer

Had the same on Monday ... friend phones on 021 asking if he can phone on whatsapp (cheaper) ... I say yes. Friend phones back on 021 asking why I don't answer. LOL :X3:
