Oldskool calling still better and preferred.
Again, this is a poor network issue. 99% of the time it is far more reliable than traditional calls which is a 50/50 chance.its really hit and miss, most of the time i end the wa call and phone back on a normal call and can hear better

Weird how this is so different from my experience. WhatsApp is clear as a bell with no delays.
I use WhatsApp voice calling all the time.No ways, standard voice call still better. WhatsApp voice has that 'delay' while talking and connection interruptions.
You mean your contacts.Yes, because there is noone to call or message you![]()
You either have a k@k phone or k@k internet...I make international WA calls3 times per week and it's crystal clear.wish i could disable whatsapp phone calls , most of the time they sound like 1995 vodacom in the karoo

I understand that. But Mobile connection has become more reliable than cell signal. And whatsapp voce quality and compression even works well on poor mobile connection.Remember that WhatsApp has to go via your internet connection, so if you are mobile and 4G/3G fails, then your line quality is at risk. Both sides of each call use the internet, and everyone will have their own experience...

Very true and funny enough even those direct calls are sometimes HD calls that are being sent via VoLTE (essential a data connection), I think Whatsapp call performance is heavily dependent on good a network.I understand that. I agree eveyrone will have a different experience. But I find that even in poor mobile areas 3G/4G is a lot more reliable than the traditional call.s. Therefor normal phone calls is not an improvement to where whatsapp fails.
And if everyone who give you a whatsapp call has connection issues, you might need to check that it is not YOU that is the one with the poor connection issues and not them or whatsapp.
Sure is. I've experienced packet loss on 1-2 bars of signal.Very true and funny enough even those direct calls are sometimes HD calls that are being sent via VoLTE (essential a data connection), I think Whatsapp call performance is heavily dependent on good a network.

Sheesh you are just as annoying in real life as well.nifty trick in case you dont know
if theres someone you message who has the blue ticks off and they ignore you or reply late and you dont know if they read your message - create a new group and add them to it with 1 other person
groups force read receipts on for everyone
Fair enough. Apartment blocks are a pain in the backside for almost everything. The majority of my time is spent at home, tethered to WiFi, so my experience reflects the caller's signal quality. The ground floor of our block is a renowned dead-spot for Vodacom (many apartment blocks between us and the towers). A few people insist on calling me from outside the gate via WhatsApp, and those calls can be really bad.
BTW we had a new intercom system installed recently (it controls both vehicle gates at our complex). We needed to have a GSM 'sharkfin' antenna installed at the one gate, because the cellular signal was so poor...
For the record, various ISPs wanted to put towers on our roof (we are ideally situated for that), but it was vetoed by the Trustees...
ive only done the above once - someone owes me money and his cousin said he will pay it on his behalf - the cousin keeps ignoring me on WAPP so i added both to a group and the cousin realised my trick and phoned me today apologising and said he will pay me by monday latestSheesh you are just as annoying in real life as well.At least you are funny.
