Whatsapp issue with backing up

You sure it is not your connection?

The other option is copy the WhatsApp folder to your PC and then to the new phone.
I dunno what the issue is... but this thing is kak slow... it's not a viable option. 100 mb per day makes it not viable.

And the other problem is that when I plug my phone into the PC it doesn't give me access to the file system. I can see the WhatsApp Folder under the Android Folder... but it shows as empty.
There is nothing to copy there.

Phone unlocked? And in the correct data transfer mode? Not the camera ptp or mtp it must be connected as usb storage

Oh goodness. Mine did a couple of gig in a couple of hours. Sounds like you have restrictions on your connection or IP maybe?
Dunno where to begin looking ...
Incredibly frustrating to say the least.

I also tried copying the WhatsApp folder to my SD card, but it seems that after Android version whatever they took away Write access control to the SD card as well.
You can only access the SD card in Photo mode now (or book mode) or whatever other file mode, but not in write access mode.
The above mentioned file root access apps cannot access the SD card.

Can you copy it to google drive or something similar?

It's finally started copying to my computer... I just had to leave it for 30 minutes.
It looked like it had crashed... but finally it started copying.
Such crap....

EDIT: Gonna have to go see my therapist after all of this....

OK, well.... when I finally logged into WhatsApp.... it was a total failure.... Whatsapp has lost all my messages and everything is blank.

WhatsApp didn't restore anything.

my guess is that... if you have two factor authentication enabled... it will not allow that kind of subtle restoration....

Android has never been reliable with copying via USB cable (if that is what you are using), for that I use WiFi and GoodSync Explorer on PC and Android. https://www.goodsync.com/goodsync-explorer

Although, Xiaomi comes with an awesome app called ShareMe which just connects to your PC via your browser with the "share to PC" option.

That's is strange. I will need to see if I can find the backup phone and do a test run. I think it didn't copy properly.

I can still see all of the filles there.... so they are definitely there in the folders...
In fact I'm now gonna need to go in and clear them out to retreive some of the space.
So I know they definitely did copy.
But WhatsApp did not allow them to restore into my profile.

Same Cell Number, same email address, same Google profile, same pin number... but no dice....

The crazy thing is.... if I go into the WhatsApp folders on my new phone... all the videos, documents and photos are there. But the messages aren't there. ‍♂️
