Need some help please,
This bloody Whatsapp, using a Samsung S21 U - stcuk on preparing to backup to Google Drive.
I have deleted numerous chats due to size, have cleared the cache, still nothing, it just sits there.

Any advice?
Last complete backup was 30 Jan, and due to this crap system it doesnt even tell you it was not successful

Sorry not sure why it doesn't want to backup, but I use Autosync for Google to backup my data (Upload Only) . I did pay a small fee for the app. Even if WhatsApp backups did work, it is unreliable and have had it in the past to only find out later that it never backup properly, or the data was lost.

doing a back up now. got past the preparing stage. lets see

My backup sometimes tits on 97-99% for a couple of hours and then eventually finishes. I have backups over Mobile enabled to make sure that the backup completes when I am outside WIFI coverage. This issue happens on my home 200/200 fibre line, so the connection is not the issue.

Can you maybe explain how it works and how you backup whatsapp?
I downloaded it but not sure how to proceed

I just select the WhatsApp folder on my phone, and then created a folder on my Google Drive. Upload Only. And then set it to sync whenever there are changes. Bunch if other settings as well. Make sure it is set to run in the background.

Try excluding video from the backup, or alternate to include it whichever your setting is now, also do a device restart

Using the other account it gets to "please wait a moment" then when it gets to 100 percent and then just stops and nothing......
Try disabling all your phones security settings, whether that be fingerprint, face unlock, pin or pattern...

Guys I think I may have worked out the issue.
It seems that if you are on battery saver and have other battery saving or limiting functions turned on, this is what causes the issue.
I found some article somewhere about this and turned off all battery saving settings, it seems to have corrected it....so far.
The backup to Google Drive is still not complete but it is proceeding.
More than I have done in recent times.
I seem to think there is some issue with Android 12 and this.
I dont know how nobody else is having the same issue.
