Lately I have noticed when using whatsapp that it gets 'stuck' and I have to reboot the phone (Android) and then some messages come through, or it takes a while for a message to come through to me from someone.

Anyone else notice the same issues?

I've got the same issue too (for a couple months now).
Sometimes using an app/task killer helps but I hate having to do that all the time while waiting for a message

It depends on whoever is in charge of monitoring for the day. Half of the tw@ts only have a Std 2 and can barely read so it takes a while.

I am not sure about the stuck part but the second half of your problem is quite common. I tend to receive delayed messages when I am on the work domain wifi.

i have about 6 friends, all on mtn with the same issue, they have to reboot, or switch to flight mode and back , then all the messages come through in batches, whatsapp support just said its not their problem

I'm having similiar issues, I honestly think it's due to network issues of some kind.

Message is sent by sender and then 5-10 minutes later it comes to me, all at once.

I think that the problem is your network then... Which network are you on, and are you using HSDPA or EDGE?

Sometimes, switching to EDGE worked for me, on Cell C.

At my home I only get edge most of the time and occasionally it will switch for a minute...

I also connect to the home WiFi.

I'm on mtn

Same with iPhone, the latest update supposed to fix the startup crashing but no, still crashes on startup.

Pooky, it's definitely network related issues.

I'm on the Vodacom network, and has never experienced any issues with WhatsApp, whether it be chatting to a group of people, one person - always instant.

Mind you, all my friends are also on the Vodacom network....so that might be why we never have any issues?
