Whatsapp on new IPhone

Hi All.
I got IPhone 5 with new number.Can anyone advice how I can get the same whatsapp from my old IPhone on new number and new phone? Dont want to pay for it again. Hope it makes sense

When I upgraded my iPhone, I just synced it to my iTunes. I can't remember doing anything special. The apps just just installed. Same with my iPad. The apps just synced. Even the old iPhone only apps.

Probably because it's a different number. So counts you as someone else now.

It's $1 dude. Definitely not worth the hassle of what you're trying to do.

AFAIK, On iOS you buy the app and don't pay for a number?

if you log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to buy WhatsApp, then you won't have to pay again.

What vinodh said. If it's the same AppleID, press Buy. it will notify you that you have already purchased it and ask if you want to download it again.

Alternatively, go to the Updates tab, then tap on "Purchased" and it should be in the list.

I did that. Backed up my old Iphone, synced in iTunes, then connected the new one n synced. Nothing.

I did that. Backed up my old Iphone, synced in iTunes, then connected the new one n synced. Nothing.

You must not have selected transfer purchases when backing up your old phone then.

As I said, go to the updates tab in App Store app on the iPhone, then tap on "Purchased". Make sure the same Apple ID you purchased Whatsapp on is signed in.

I don't need your dollar. I just want to figure this out. I'm sure there's a way of doing it. If so I would like to know. Why pay twice? If I can't figure out will pay the dollar. It's not about the money anyway. For now let me struggle my way if you don't mind.

Apologies for the derailing a bit - but what's this about iTunes vouchers at Musica & iStores? Presumably ZAR vouchers?

Number has nothing to do with it, you simply use the same Apple ID on the same phone.

I currently do this across 4 devices.


So either someone had jailbroken and pirated Whatsapp for you before, or you are using the wrong Apple ID.

Also you don't need to go to "Purchased" if you bought it before with the same Apple ID it won't show you the price but instead say "Install" or "Open" if it's already on the phone.
