Lol. Persevere. You will come right. As I say I had a similar issue a while ago but I had it working and during a bit of modding and tweaking I broke something and push wouldn't work (whatsapp only). Gmail etc all worked perfectly.

I tried many things, none of which worked. Restoring to an earlier backup did it for me. To this day I have no idea what was wrong but I suspect it was some push notification certificate verification issue.

In fact try deleting your account, uninstall on your phone and very importantly delete whatsapp from iTunes on your pc. You'll find it under apps, right click, delete, and select remove and delete file.

Then download whatsapp on your pc and install it via syncing your pc and phone.

Re-register your account and test form there.

Inbox me your number and we can test. I'll bombard you with text until we've established push is working or not.

Just curious... did you activate that iPhone in iTunes with a CellC SIM? If so, as far as I know its not an official carrier so your certificates will all be screwed and push will not work.

My whatsapp works fine, im using Cell C as well + Iphone 4, so i doubt its has to do with carrier or some sort of certificate.
perhaps re-installing watsapp would help

Good day macboer

Did you come right ?

Went to CellC today. Very helpfull guy named Rooies helped me. He checked all my settings and whatnot and it was correct. So he gave me a new SIM but it's still not pushing :(

I'm going to uninstall Whatsapp and check again.

Just to clear things up a bit, it pushes the messages up to ~6min after I leave the app.

Seems like the problem could be in the phone itself... :'(

Any more info would be very much appreciated. Thanks for all the help so far.

I had all the same issues as you dude. The 6 minute story is the phone going into a standby state where it needs the message to be pushed to wake. The push functionality is not working.

Need to deactivate the service with what's app via the app itself on the phone.

Then uninstall it on your device and delete it from iTunes.

Then download what's app on the phone. Activate your number, connect your phone to pc and transfer purchases to iTunes.

I can have a look at your iTunes setup, remotely using Teamviewer, if you keen...

Have you selected the delete my account option in whatsapp chat settings before?

Don't know if you're sorted yet but I just wanted to mention that if your phone is factory unlocked it still needs to get the unlock certificate from apple - with the SIM card of an official carrier - of which CellC isn't one. To fix my push notifications (iMessage/WhatsApp/Exchange) I made sure that I used an MTN SIM card when setting up the phone and then swapped the SIM card when the phone was still on.

Definitely worth a try although I believe push mail is currently working. Care to comment Macboer?

Is iMessage working for you?

Hi

Ran test and traced it, all seems to be working fine.
To VC , MTN , Virgin.
I did see every ever so often there was a slight delay.
That could be cause though to high volume of traffic.
