Not if it's encrypted. They have no way of distinguishing data being used for voip calls from other data if the data is encrypted. All the threats from mobile operators is just hot air.

Nope, they will still find it. Most systems in use have some sort of learning system, they will figure it out.

Just tested it on a Blackberry Q10, the whatsapp is call enabled and can now take and send calls via whatsapp too
