*VOICE CHATS*

*Info & How to Manage*
Group voice chats (calls) are understandably annoying to many members on groups. Unfortunately there is currently no way to disable them completely.
*Admins cannot disable the function and we cannot end the voice chats*. It does not help to remove the person from the group - the voice chat remains active. Joining the voice chat also does not help.
*The only person who can end the voice chat is the person who started it.* The voice chat button is very sensitive and members sometimes push on it or swipe over with their finger accidentally and without knowing.

*If you accidentally started a voice chat:*
1. Click on the voice chat you started and end the chat.
2. If you are not sure how to do this, close your WhatsApp completely or, if necessary, switch your phone off and on again.

*Good News:* There is a way that members can disable the notifications for themselves - this must be done for each group that you are on.

Please follow the step-by-step instructions below as an example (images to follow as well):

*How to mute these voice chats / notifications:*
1. This setting is found in the specific *Group settings* and *not in your general WhatsApp settings*.
2. When in the group chat, click on the name of the group or the group icon at the top of your screen to open your settings for the group. This will open the *Group Info* screen.
3. Click on *Notifications* to open the notification options.
4. Under the “Voice Chats” section, you will see *Mute notifications* - click on this to open the options.
5. Click on *Always* to disable the notifications permanently.

Done - you will no longer receive these voice chat notifications (you may still see them on the screen in the group chat but the constant notifications will stop.
Remember to do this for all your groups!!
