When could we see DDR4 Ram in SA?

tons of speculation that ddr4 could come into effect in December 2013. But my question is when will we see it in SA?

We'll get it around 2014Q1, but for the server market.

You won't see DDR4 until Early 2015 I think. And when you do, it would be for high-end server related components. The tech is already out there, but still a lot to do.

I wouldn't bother getting excited until Intel/AMD release new CPU's with DDR4 memory controllers.

Just to clear things up for you guys. It's scheduled to be "released" by early 2014. Now think a bit further. Intel is only releasing their next "Haswell refresh" late in 2014 or early 2015, and the current Haswell CPUs and Mobos won't handle DDR4. Most speculation states that those CPU's won't support DDR4, but we won't know for sure until it is closer to "release".

Given the above, and the fact that motherboard manufactures still have to design those motherboards as well (surely they have started already), we in South Africa won't see it in even 2014 (my speculation), maybe if we are lucky in late 2014. See the "release" date of the DDR4 as the release to manufacturers to start designing their motherboards, GPUs, processors around the new Tech.

Lol same with me i just got the 7870 OC now. Ill rather wait for ddr4 even if its in 2015 i dont feel like blowing unnecessary money on ddr3.

There won't be an immediate jump in performance when it launches though, DDR4 has some limitations around the amount of DIMMs you can install, dual channel = 2 DIMMs, quad channel = 4 DIMMs
