Which class to push to 85 when Cataclysm hits?

I wonder how long it's going to take before people start dissing Worgen/Goblins like they did in TBC with Belves/Draenei...

The Spacegoat I understand is stupid, but Belves are awesome :p
 
Looking forward to having additional choices when it comes to Druids.

Depends on your play schedule if you're pressed for time Tank/Healer. You'll always find a role to fill.

But the real exciter is old world being brought up to date. Once they take the chore out of the lower levels I'm looking forward to introducing some friends to the game. But at the moment, 1-60 is really for people who are dedicated to seeing it through to 80. And those levels (1-60) should be absolutely "noob"/casual friendly.

Little things like introducing low level reputation rewards from the capital cities will get newbies aquitend with concept they'll encounter in the end game.

The Goblins are a natural choices for addition to the game world. There is a lot of backing lorewise for them to join the horde (although techinically these goblins are a subfaction of the greater goblin populace). I'm still not sold on the idea Goblin shaman, for a culture that is generally based on plundering any natural resource for profit, it seems a far stretch. I'd be more likely to believe a High Elf Shaman, but that is also a pretty thin stretch.

The Worgen, prior to world going nuts over a certain highly calculated over marketed series of books, seemed like an awesome idea. Now I'm just dreading the idea of 1000's of tweens rolling worgen and heading to cybershire. At the same time it is better than Metzen deciding to lorelol a new race into Azeroth, these worgen are essentially humans from Gileneas. I just hope that in game they a represented as Humans as Beasts rather than Beasts as Humans.

My hunter will be my first toon I level from 80 to 85. After that? I'll have to see. I've got 8 lvl 80 toons, so I've got a lot of xp grinding ahead of me, but I don't want to burn myself out on the new content too fast by trying to level all of those in one go.
Chances are what I'll do is start my worgen warr after the hunter is lvl 85 and the mad lemming run for Gilneas has died down a bit, and do a few levels on him every now and again for a change of pace while I'm levelling other toons.

Warrior. Because I've always wanted one.
I've got my dk, mage and a level 1 goblin rogue that will be waiting in the wings.

Dunno why you okes sukkeled levelling your mages, was the easiest thing in the world for me. Frost till i could get Slow and Arcane Barrage, then arcane through to 80. Slow-Ab-Ab-Amiss-Abarr->dead mob. In the rare event something got close, frost nova, blink, nuke. With evocate on such a short cooldown, food and water whenever i wanted, mana gems... it was the fastest i'd ever levelled a toon in my life. Virtually zero downtime, crazy burst, teleports everywhere...ezmode levelling.

Will probably be my mage...and i find it very easy to lvl as frost, or my shaman..oh idk maybe the rogue...to hot to think about this now
 
I think warriors are much easier than before because lets face it, prior to heirlooms, warrior gear sucked big time until lvl 60. People always used to say that they where gear dependant, blah blah. Fact is. All classes are gear dependant. Its just that warrior gear was relativly scarce. That has changed. Also the lfg system means you level much faster by tanking in dungeons.

I will be leveling my warrior to lvl 85, followed by my druid. I will probably end up leveling all of my lvl 80s(i have about 6). It depends on the restrictions to professions, as I have all the professions covered to make my raiding a bit cheaper :D

Also leveled as frost and I don't know I prob just suck at playing mage but it felt like it took ages. On my lock I would pull whole groups and nuke them down. On the mage I got this right at around level 60+ where I could do the same. But the constant need to sit and drink, the amount of times I died is insane :D The cast times, and and and. Dono I'm prob more of a melee guy. I think I'm spoilt since I have leveled a Paladin and a Druid before I leveled the mage. No downtime at all. The Pala was a mission till about level 30 then it went pretty quickly, the druid.... Nothing can explain the awesomeness of leveling a Druid. It sucks till level 20 but once you get Cat form it's faceroll to 80. No need to stop for mana (Innervate) and as a cat you just pewpew pewpew, heal and pewpew some more.

I think this is what made the mage leveling so hard for me :o

I'm leaning more towards doing the same now. Think I'll rush my Warrior to 85 so he can be top geared during the run of Cataclysm. The problem I'm having with him now is that he is okish geared but everyone is geared in ICC gear and it makes my warrior feel weak. I only got him to 80 about 2 months ago and I'm loving the play style. My Druid on the other hand is on the same gear level as the other players (ICC) that I think is why I favour him above the warrior for the time being. But I'll give me warrior the best possible shot when Cataclysm hits to keep him top geared and then level my Druid as soon as I can after the Warrior has hit 85.

The thing is I don't think people really understand the work that needs to go into a main. (I know I didn't) For Cataclsym I don't want to run around with 4-5 mains trying to keep them all at the top of their game. It's just not possible and then you get sucked into a void where you run around with plenty of toons but none good enough to be top end. I did realize this with my Druid and it was by far the most reward time I have ever spent on WoW. Putting all your effort into one toon and then having a second rated toon is the way to go. Impossible to keep more than one toon top notch.

For me anyway :o

Completely agree, extra toons are just for their professions, nothing else except maybe the bit of alt runs when needed.
 
And they are there to take a break from your main toon when you are a bit tired of him, which most ppl do get @ some points.

I kinda still feel like I have 2 mains atm :)
 
Most in our guild have 2 characters capable of raiding ICC. I think one or two might have a third. Last night we got Sindy down to 16% after 2 shotting blood council and blood queen. Only 3 if us where on our mains. I tanked with my warrior who already has Kingslayer. The 2 mains have not been this far before. Peoples gear is pretty average. We could have downed Sindy has where about a 1 min ahead of the enrage timer. Just losing concentration in ph3. Tonight she goes down and if we extend the raid, then we will have 7 alts with Kingslayer, cause I think LK is easier than Sindy.

I leveled with a WTFLOL spec from 1 to 60, then switched to a decent prot from 60 to about 70, then a proper arms spec when i got to 70, to 80. You are quite an aggro magnet (I remember running around with you and seeing some mobs just sniffing you out from great distances. Well so it seemed. :) )

I still shudder when I look back at the screenshots and see my talent build...Shockingly confusing to say the least. I'll be leveling in prot spec in randoms I think. We can set up groups so that I don't get too much flack for screwing up. ;)

Nothing more ironic than a 55k HP gnome warrior running around taking on beeg bosses. :D

Fark me! :O

I've played on and off since the start of '08. I only have 1 lvl80, my rogue (+/- 2100hrs on him). The highest alt I have is lvl 22. :o

I hate solo leveling.
 
Warrior is currently my main(tank), but I see a lot if people leveling warriors, for some reason, so I will probably change to my Druid as a main for tanking in Cata.

Levelling a paladin felt allot slower than I thought it would. Frost Mage is crazy easy imo. With Evo glyphed you never have downtime and kill mobs so quickly. Levelling my mage was very easy.
I agree Kitty is gr8 fun, especially after L55. Sub rogue is also gr8 fun for me.

What I have found thou is that it takes me +- the same amount of played time on any toon I level (done a few ye), which is 6 days playtime, give or take a few hours. Some just feel slower than others. I quest mostly, and do dungeon & bg's when I'm bored of that or go play an 80. I get tunnel vision and it goes quickly :p
Knowing the quests that gives the most XP per time spend on them helps I guess. Something that I not know when Cata hits, but I suspect we'll do allot of dungeon levelling.

@ Fayera. Ye wtf is with that? Because they are atm so op? Because atm (always) they are fun to play? I know like 5 friends who going to level their warriors 1st in CATA, even thou its always been their alts. There is never many spots in raids for warriors, specially in 10 man.


Anyway. Atm I'm kind of favouring my Priest over my Druid

We effectively have 2 months and 1 day before Cata hits. I wonder if that's sufficient time to roll an alt to level to 80. I just don't see how people find the time to level more than one character, do all the dailies and still gear themselves.

Then again I'm a bit of a chiefmince wh0re. Doubt I'd be able to do it with more than 1.

The only other question now is which class to level:

Pally (lvl 20)
Drood (lvl 22)
DK (lvl 61)
Mage (lvl 6)
Lock (lvl 7)

I'm still undecided between the Pally and Druid, considering they both tank and heal.

I'm waiting for the patch 4 too see after the changes which class do I enjoy most. I will level my main (mage) + one other must be a tank alt ofc! all have epic flying mounts

Choices:

80 Mage enchanter/inscription
80 Warrior (Tank/DPS specs) bs/miner
80 Paladin (Tank/DPS specs) alch/herb
80 Priest (Hate this char) engineer/jc
78 Druid (Might level this char! Tank) tailor/herb
