Which franchise?

I stand corrected .... :o

KFC - no longer franchising

Hi there,

You have expressed an interest in investing in a KFC franchise but unfortunately, this company does no longer offer franchises to the public. This policy was adopted by KFC internationally and for sound operational reasons. As you can imagine, KFC has a large number of established franchisees and now wants to grow from within. If and when a new site becomes available, it will be offered to one of their existing franchisees.

Many of the established KFC franchisees operate between 10 and 20 KFC units, some even more. These super franchisees are obliged to maintain a large infrastructure to take care of operations, staff training and the control of branches within their territories. As a result, KFC Head Office is free to focus its attention almost exclusively on growing the brand. Seen from their perspective, the policy holds many advantages and is in any event non-negotiable.

The KFC Barons....

Imagine the money those guys are making.
I heard the rumour that KFC is in the hands of a few guys not like the other franchises.
So i guess it's true....

The Chicken Kings!!

KFC is the biggest by far. It is currently an exclusive 'Chicken' club. A "minor" player -Davyfoods...

Which franchise do you reckon makes the most profits - that people enjoy the most as fast food? Which would actually buy?

Steers? Nando's? Sandwich Baron? McDonalds?

I am 100% sure mcdonalds' profit margin is the biggest.

I prefer KFC or Homemade thanks :p

Now one thing I would like to know, what stops a franchise company of not pursuing there own shop if you inquired about a location?

Nando's

I do not eat cardboard (McD)

and wimpy is also very expensive in comparison to what you get

what about franchises like Mike's kitchen? As far as I know, they could still do with quite a few stores in a lot of regions....

Wimpy expensive? Are you crazy ? Nandos is expensive, the most out of the lot. The profits must be massive.

well, I haven't bought nando's in a long time. But usually we bought a full chicken meal as it works out cheaper. and is enough to feed the whole family. It was R100 (no idea of the current price). there was no ways we would've been able to pay that little for the whole family at wimpy.

And not just that: the services of the wimpy close to us suck. they couldn't be bothered to serve their customers. went there once, placed our order fot drinks and after 15mins still didn't receive it, even after enquiring. got up and left. on the way out told manager about the pathetic service.

never been back since, and I am not bothered. Found lots of other alternative places to eat, that also not too expensive

A friend of mine's father has a couple of fast foods, and he says by far Nandos make the most money because the biggest part of our population loves chicken... They like Nandos more than KFC

Daddy wants the big piece of chicken :p:D:D

Think thats too much of a generalisation, Nandos has pretty hefty prices.
Most of the population can't afford it they more likely to get a streetwise 2 than a quarter chicken and chips from nando's.

+1, and KFC has 10 times the amount of franchises around the country :p:D

Whimpy is shlt....R35 for a plain burger...hahahaha, a freaking awesome super dubblecrunch with pineapple and cheese is R32 at KFC :)
