On the 17th Jan you posted a story entitled "7 reasons to become a software developer in South Africa", in which the number one reason to become a software developer was:

"1. High demand and job security
Almost every industry in the world has benefited from rapid digitisation and has a high demand for software developers.
This ensures there is a wealth of employment opportunities for software developers – both in South Africa and across the globe.
"

Today, just 13 days later you post a story entitled "Bad news for people looking for IT jobs in South Africa", and the article goes on to say:

"While software developers remain the most recruited tech role, the demand for them, along with IT project managers, has notably decreased”.

So much for job security if the demand is waning, people must be getting laid off.

I know the tech industry moves quickly, but 13 days for such a radical change!? There are several articles in your news from '24 that report on the dwindling demand for software developers in SA so it's a little confusing why 13 days ago there was allegedly such a high demand.

Are your reporters partaking in hallucinogenic substances per chance?

if there where 100 roles available, and now 50 roles, there are still 50 roles

there was never an infinite demand.
decrease demand for new hires != getting laid off
there is no conflict.

Permaban incoming for pointing out one of their many flaws.

Which is it..? It's clicks my man.. if it's not going to generate clicks, they don't get money..

So they use the click bait article titles to get the clicks, even if it means contradicting themselves in the process..

Oh I know, every article headline has clickbait phrases like big problems, bad news, warning, stealing, big fight, big red flag. It just all reads as so juvenile. Are they targeting 5 year olds, or are the reporters 5 year olds?

I like mybroadband for the localised tech-focused news, but the more I read every week, there's rarely anything of real substance in any of the articles.

MyBB vocabulary, they live by it, until the day they die by it..

Case in point - article headline about this new Wanatu e-hailing company - blah blah blah asking for trouble  I think I'm done here, with this thread.

This is low quality news outlet. Don't get your news here.

This is a fear for me, most content on the web now... I have so little interest in reading.

Books up until 2021 will probably become collectables

and older blogs
Better save the threads of the yesteryears, so that we can remember what this was actually about.

There was an article on MyBB the other day about fraudulent AI-generated articles in the scientific research community. With AI nowadays able to create images and text, I'm in the same boat, don't know what to believe anymore.

Case in point - some FB group trying to pass off an AI-generated image as a Nat Geo award-winning image.

Facebook is even lower quality content than this forum. I hardly see posts from friends, only ads and suggested pages.

If it's not the official NatGeo page, it's an attention-whoring page.
