Today, just 13 days later you post a story entitled "Bad news for people looking for IT jobs in South Africa", and the article goes on to say:

"While software developers remain the most recruited tech role, the demand for them, along with IT project managers, has notably decreased”.

So much for job security if the demand is waning, people must be getting laid off.


I know the tech industry moves quickly, but 13 days for such a radical change!? There are several articles in your news from '24 that report on the dwindling demand for software developers in SA so it's a little confusing why 13 days ago there was allegedly such a high demand.

Are your reporters partaking in hallucinogenic substances per chance?

It's the second one.

I hear what you are saying. I have a friend in the IT recruitment sector. 2024 for them was brutal, the market was quiet. Lots of CV's on her desk but company hires had tapered off significantly. 2025 at the moment is not fairing much better.
