Which ISP?

Well, Mweb does shape, which is almost like throttling i would guess

Throttling means decrease in download line speed..MWEB gives you you're full ,lets say 4mb line, speed at all times... (Telkom decreases line speed during the day and only after 7pm you get what you paid for)

Yes they do shape..hardly noticable in my opinion..only thing i can say that is noticable is torrent download during the day..

Gaming ,browsing and youtube are running amazingly during office hours

Then again..i'v started a 2gig torrent download at 3pm and it was done just before 5pm..so depends on the network

I just tried to register on their website and i keep getting errors -.-

Account is there but everytime i click login and type my password.. it just takes me back to home page without logging in

Anyway, My adsl line has been transfered back to telkom..

Hopefully a ISP can help me out here..

Transfer my line to them... and seeing as i already paid WA for the month.. how do i get around that..

I dont see an option to transfer just my line to mweb

Give them a call! 08600 32000 ..they have friendly staff and will have you up and running under 15mins

Well apart from that, i got extreme circumstances.
I have a data account with a different ISP - which im attempting to cancel.. wont give me the option to cancel end december.. -.-
I got a ADSL line that about 20mins ago got moved back to telkom.

I cannot pay twice. lol.

Seconds Question: Is Mweb a "contract only" isp :?

So which ISP can offer:
- Reliable service
- Decent Cost
- Nice uncapped perks (no throttling / decent data AUP)
- Brilliant constant speeds.
- Flexible / accommodating new clients

Get trial accounts from MWEB, PluGG and OpenWeb and decide for yourself. What works for other people might not necessarily work for you. Test them for a week and see which one suits you best.

You can get someone to call you from MWEB (no online registration) just go to their website.

Email [email protected] for a PluGG test account

PM MrBEEP for OW.

Always leave your line with Telkom. Makes things like this MUCH easier.

OK after alot of researching, I am pretty torn between OpenWeb and Mweb.

I hear some clients saying they moved from Mweb to OpenWeb and prefer OpenWeb, yet some swear by Mweb.

Could i get a mass opinion.

they are both good. get test accounts and test for yourself and see:)

btw i must point out i always use my mweb login for wifi on Always On accounts. you get about 5 hours free wifi a month which comes in very handy for me. not sure if that makes any difference to you though:)

Nope, I dont use Wi-Fi nor is my router Wi-Fi

In addition could some users from either ISP post some speed test of 1mb line results (if you on 1mb)

Holy shorts.. I was planning on getting Limited "Gold Uncapped" thats on special - 41 accounts left Q.Q
(Thats if i chose them)

Ja, that Polka comment was sarcasm (chuckled to myself when I saw that) and also that nobody was answering OP's question.

People don't like to recommend ISP's they are with out of fear of sabotaging/saturating the backbone.

All I can say is NOT Afrihost until Feb/March next year.
