Which mobile operator do you think has the best network in South Africa? It will be great if you can share your mobile experience in the area which you live.

Vodacom, without a doubt.

Best value for money though, I would have to say Telkom with CellC (crap network) close second.

It's all area dependant.

All the networks have their good and bad areas.

I've only ever used MTN and always been happy.

Except in some remote locations - but I'm hardly ever in a remote location so that doesn't bother me too much.

Where I am now if all I had was Voda or Mtn, I'd be stuffed. Patchy coverage at best except. Telkom is perfect in any direction from here.

Telkom - despite all the complaints its the only network that understands we live in the 21st century and tries to affordably meet the data demands (both streaming and social media) of the current age.

Vodacom for the best network, hands down. Their coverage is hard to beat.

They are not perfect though; the OOB shark is real and their prices are quite steep and not really value for money anymore. If I could get Telkom reception out on our farm I would switch to them

I moved from MTN to Vodacom some years back largely because I stayed near a large mall and in December, the MTN tower kept crashing and I couldn't receive any phone calls. Haven't had any issues since.

Definitely Vodacom for general, all round use. Stay in Southern Suburbs and work in Cape Town foreshore.

3g/4g/LTE you can't go wrong with Telkom Mobile. While Vodacom is good, my only gripe is all the blocking of ports and to get them to unblock something on your number is another story!

MTN is probably the best network. Simple reason they have the best coverage in the rural areas. A lot of the Internet companies used the MTN backbone surely it must be the best.

Had MTN
Have Cell c and Vodacom in dual sim phone

Vodacom all the way

Of all of the above networks:
Vodacom has the best network quality in cities but you pay a bit more for this.
I will be switching over to afrihost mobile next year when my vodacom contract ends. Month to Month seems like the way to go. (I think afrihost still piggy backs off MTN though but hey im not stuck for 24 months)

I've been through gauteng, kzn, EC, freestate, Lesotho, WC. Vodacom always has the best signal in the more remote areas, I've found.
