In all honesty, I think he went for the size ;) It's the largest of the 3 ...

Few will admit, but generally people want the largest TV for the price. Once they have it, even few wer will admit there is an issue or something they don't like on their 'investment' ;)

Lol, the image quality is awesome on the Samsung plasma, thanks ;) Surprisingly, the power consumption is equal to that of a LCD. It only uses 200W, which is more or less what LCDs use.

They pretty much play all the popular formats. The one thing pushing me to the WD TV live is the more powerful chipset (Sigma 8655), compared to the Realtek 1055 for the MED200X.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm gonna go with the WD TV live :) It's going for around R1000. I have a portable USB drive that I use to watch my series/movies, so I'm gonna hook it up to that.
 
good choice, I was about to say go for nr.3

bigger, cheaper, and better quality for General TV and movies.

I'm not biased, I have an LCD.

Add to that better at sports, motion, black levels, white levels, contrast, games, coffee making ...

.. I wonder why LCD is even around?

Wise choice.

I got a 32" two weeks back and will say that if your not buying > 42" then buy only a 32". My onw bud has a 40" & 42" sammies and I could not belive the difference in screen size. And on noticing the difference between 1080p and 720p, well it all depends on how far away you sit from screen.

But enjoy it :)

(I mounted mine on the wall and it makes such a difference to freeing up space in the room)
