Which Openweb?

Ok, need some advice.

I'm considering switching to Openweb, so I've gotten my hands on a trial account for their standard uncapped - not very impressed.
So clearly I need to go a level higher - the question is, do I go for Silver; or Gold shaped, which is actually a bit cheaper since it's on special.
According to their website, the Silver is a semi shaped account, whereas Gold seems to be fully shaped.
If that's the case, I think I'd rather have the Silver and have unshaped after hours.
Or is that the case with the Gold Shaped too, but they just haven't said so?

What I'm looking for is very good speeds during peak hours for streaming (Youtube), and HTTP downloads, with preferably half speed (I'm on a 1meg line) for torrents.
Then after hours I expect full speed on torrents and I'd prefer if after hours didn't only start at 9 or 10 PM like with Mweb.

That doesn't help but since you have such a strong opinion perhaps you could suggest a viable alternative, bearing in mind the requirements in my OP.

i too would like some clarity on the differences between the openweb accounts. I hate this marketing rubbish about gold, platinum, silver, etc. There is no comparison of the accounts and shaping rules on their site!?

Ignore this. I've yet to have Keoma treat me poorly and the Openweb uncapped products are by far the best on the market.

Ive been dealing with Openweb on and off for years.

IMO take the 4 mg gold, unless you have a speed faster than 4mg then give the axxess special a go. They have their ups and downs but cost vs reward the axxess one wins over the 10mg gold.

Except for the fact that I get 6Meg speeds on my 4Meg GOLD quite regularly.

oh, I didnt know that. I unfortunatly dont even get 4mg on my 4Meg gold, tho thats due to my crappy line in melkbos.

As far as I know Telkom is busy with network upgrades in Melkbos, so we might start seeing decent speeds soon. But, as far as I know, 4mb works alright in Melkbos. I've got a friend there who has 4mb with no issues.

Check your internet wall jack for corroded cables. With all that sea air, the cables detoriorate quite fast. We have to get ours fixed about once very year to year and a half.

The problem is a congestion. I sync at 4 meg, but my throughput is erratic. During the day with a capped account I can mostly get 4 mg, but at night after 7 it becomes so congested I can barely get 2 meg. This is with either the capped account or with the gold account. Ironic with the Sat 4 cable landing right there..

I have also been told by the telkom guy that they will be complete with the upgrade of the line before the end of the year. Just hope its true.

My line always syncs perfectly at 4mb but its the throughput thats the problem.

OK, so just to clarify - Gold shaped, and you get good speeds during office hours, including with torrents (obviously one doesn't expect full speed), and full speed after hours?
About what time does the speed increase usually? 6? Cos on Mweb it's like 9 or later usually.
