Which pc game is the most "hardware" demanding?

If you are experiencing slow GRAW and fast Crysis, its most likely a driver issue or something with Phys X.

Anyhow, It think GTA 4 was resource intensive and Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. I cannot judge though as I run everything on MAX settings without any issues.

Also, we must know the following:

What is your screen resolution?
What processor (it makes a difference with games like Crysis and GTA 4, GTA 4 is known to lag with dual cores, but seems to run fine on quad cores)

What do you mean by "max" settings... Do you mean running on a 30" monitor (2560x1600 res) or running on a 19" (1440x900 res)? What levels of AA? Some games seem to be either badly encoded (like ArmA) where no matter what you throw at it, it will still lag. This is due to software issues.

Crysis IS the most demanding game, it's not encoded badly or anything, but the sheer number of objects you must process, thus even adding AA kills the game (you must AA all the trees, which sucks power).


What I suggest is that you run Crysis on a 1920x1080 res (HD res), with 0 AA, and all settings on max, this should kill most pc's. And then you must run a benchmark (I think 3D mark Vantage will do well), then compare your scores.


How much do you want to spend on your "upgrade" or new pc? I can direct you to what will give you the best performance from there.
