Which Protocol Serves What Purpose?

Hi, I have PureVPN IKEv2 protocol setup on my iPhone and Windows PC. It has several other protocols: PPTP, L2TP, IPsec, OpenVPN, and SSTP. I was wondering which protocols serves what purpose and what's the best one in terms of security, streaming, file sharing, etc.

Openvpn is the best one to use.

Different protocols have differing levels of simplicity (computationally) and overhead.
In terms of security, PPTP is weakest but fastest.

Thanks that's explanatory. I asked the CSR and redirected me to their own comparison here; https://www.purevpn.com/vpn-protocols now the comparison is in simplified form compared to your link above. I chose IKEv2 based on that comparison. What do you think about IKEv2? and SSTP?
