Which speed???

Hi Guys

I currently have internet with Axxess - 2MBPS Home Uncapped, it's quite slow and kills my downloads.

I was planning to move over to the 1MBPS Premium Uncapped which is slightly more expensive. The only difference is the throttling, I would like to know from you guys what your opinion is? Stay on the 2mbps Home or Move to the 1mbps Premium for possibly better download speeds and better throttling?

Current download speed (max) 200kbps, my line is capable of handling 20mbps

Check your monthly usage and get a capped account that covers it. No throttling and will likely be cheaper than the uncapped offerings.

You can get 100gig capped at your current line speed for cheaper than Premium uncapped 1meg.

What line speed are you paying for btw?

From the axxess website, that's how much he's paying now. If he's only willing to go to R189 for 1meg premium instead of R265 for 2 meg premium I doubt he's interested in R349 for Crystal Web

It's R299 for Axxess including the line, if you take the bundle. And you have to have a land line too, so that's R488.

It's R498 for CrystalWeb including the line, if you take the bundle. And you have to have a land line too, so that's R687.
 
Just found a deal on axxess... 2mbs Uncapped Premium - R265 or 2mbs Capped (60gbs) - R269

Although my budget is tight, I can arrange to get one of the above.

Check the limits on the uncapped if it covers your use go for that.

I'm not even with axxess genius, certainly not a fanboi of theirs. Crystalweb just ain't for the budget conscious no matter how good they are.

Not sure if your line is with Axxess you necessarily need to purchase data from them ?

There have been posts that this is no longer the case ... (ie. having Telkom line with one ISP & using others for data) .. if so, you might want to look at purchasing from Afrihost ; you can get 75GB for R149, and the benefit is that you get free extra data between 11h30pm - 7h30am every day (all the others that offer free, cut it off @ 6am far as I know)

.. or, you could just move your line back to Telkom to ensure you can go with any ISP, which would cost a bit extra each month.

You've never had to have your line rental and data at the same ISP...
